Encounter Colorado

July 26th -- August 5th | Encounter is a backpacking trip focused on helping campers develop their relationship with Christ, with the Creator's magnificent mountains as the backdrop. The trek seeks to provide a setting where students are challenged physically, mentally, and spiritually seeking God and examining their relationship with Him.

Encounter Colorado is a multi-day backpacking trip into the Fort Colin area wilderness to a place called Bench Lake. Each student carries his or her own supplies, plus some group gear, for the entire trip. There are no phones, bathrooms conveniences for many miles. We will hike about 20 miles over the course of the weeks trek. Pine forests, lakes and streams characterize the area we hike, in elevations ranging from 9,000 to 14,000 feet above sea level.

Besides hiking, in a typical day campers will set up camp, have a Bible study/journal time, debrief, sing, group building activities, and learn a lesson or two in back country living. Everything slows down and takes longer in the back country. It’s important to note that you should prepare yourself by doing some conditioning. Couch potatoes can manage but will have a more difficult time.

Dates: July 26- Aug 5, 2019

Cost: $350.00 per person. $100 deposit is due Sunday, May 5

A Parent meeting is scheduled Sunday, April 7th, 12:30 in rm 203
